How to Set Up Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Your Chevy
Taking advantage of features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is an excellent way to enjoy your favorite features and apps on the go without having to pull too much of your focus from the road. These connectivity features are designed to make your driving experience a bit more convenient by offering a user-friendly smartphone-like touchscreen interface and voice commands. Even if you don't have a device that is compatible with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you can still connect via Bluetooth. How do you set up these features in your Chevy?
Setting Up Apple CarPlay
Apple CarPlay allows you to connect compatible Apple devices and enjoy easier command over your favorite features. Here's how to get it set up:
- Pair your compatible device through Bluetooth by tapping the Phone icon on the infotainment screen and selecting the Add Phone option. Follow the prompts on the infotainment touchscreen and on your phone.
- You can also plug your phone into your car with a lightning cable to connect to Apple CarPlay.
- When Apple CarPlay is ready, an icon will appear on the infotainment screen. This icon will turn green when it's ready to go.
Setting Up Android Auto
Android Auto works with compatible Android devices to make your infotainment experience easier and more convenient. These steps can help you set it up:
- Make sure your car is in park for first-time setup Connect your Android device with a cable or wireless connection, depending on your car and your phone's compatibility.
- Tap the Projection or Android Auto icon if Android Auto does not launch automatically.
- Follow the prompts on both your phone and the infotainment screen.
- The Android Auto icon will turn blue when it's ready to go.
Pairing Your Device with Bluetooth
- Ensure that your device is discoverable by Bluetooth.
- Select the Phone button on your infotainment screen.
- Choose Pair Device.
- Select your vehicle's hard ware on your phone.
- Follow the prompts on the infotainment screen and your phone.
