Automotive Warranty Administrator

Automotive Warranty Administrator needed for upbeat auto dealership! Are you currently working as an warranty assistant or in an service office? We are willing to train the right person for the job and are looking for a team player that is positive, upbeat and a quick learner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, submit and track warranty repair orders and claims accurately and according to dealership and manufacturer policies
  • Review all warranty claims to ensure proper documentation and verify criteria required by factory
  • Review warranty claims and correct any errors
  • File all warranty claims within 24 hours of the close of the R/O
  • Input all corrections to rejected claims within two days of notification
  • Maintain good working relationships with the Service and Parts Departments
  • Book/code warranty & internal repair orders
  • Keep abreast of all factory recalls and announcements
  • Reconcile all warranty receivables and work with the accounting department to obtain payments
  • Maintain service and customer records
  • Issue and close vendor purchase orders
  • Maintain rental fleet documentation

Requirements:

  • Previous Warranty Administrator Experience required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent accounting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of activities, methods, procedures and policies of the Service Department
  • General knowledge of product installation activities
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required
  • Excellent communication and listening skills to resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner over the phone and in person
  • Ability to accept additional tasks, duties and/or direction from management

Serving as the primary point-of-contact for all automotive service and repair matters, the Automotive Service Advisor's core responsibility is to listen and thoroughly understand customer problems, to arrange for an appropriate service level, and to set/manage expectations on the part of the customer and the technician(s) in terms of service delivery. The ideal Service Advisor has an unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record, a strong mechanical aptitude, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, post secondary automotive training, certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (or is willing to obtain certification), and a strong technical and customer service performance record.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meets/greets customers in person or on phone
  • Arranges prompt and accurate diagnosis of reported problem
  • Makes best-value repair recommendations based upon nature of the problem
  • Manages delivery of required repair action by successfully setting and managing customer expectations
  • Maintains documentation, including PO, invoices, work orders, reports, etc.
  • Enforces organizational safety standards
  • Ensures appropriate parts inventory is maintained
  • Promotes a "white-glove" environment to showcase the repair facility
  • Takes ownership and accepts accountability for delivering outstanding service levels

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required; post secondary education or coursework desired

You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality.

An excellent auto mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities. They must also be good communicators to provide advice to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
  • Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
  • Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
  • Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
  • Keep logs on work and issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Requirements

  • Proven experience as auto mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Excellent physical condition
  • High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
  • Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
